Description

General information

The Arrugas Collection consists of a piece of ceramic tile that generates a pattern with infinite fluid shapes that evoke movement.

This collection is designed by Nacho Timón’s studio, focused on the design and industrial development of all kinds of products with more than 15 years of experience and numerous awards behind it.

Technical characteristics

This collection consists of a 25 x 25 cm relief piece.

Adequacy and placement

To achieve a good adhesion to the installation surface, its initial and firm surface must be discovered, for which it will be necessary to proceed to an exhaustive cleaning, since the existence of dust and material remains will condition the correct adhesion of the substrate to the facing.

The performance of adhesive mortars is reduced after a thickness of 5 mm, which is why it is not possible to correct the unevenness of the facing with excess adhesive, so it is essential to have perfectly flat surfaces. A bonding material suitable for the type of ceramic to be installed, with adequate elasticity and high technical, mechanical and chemical performance, should be used.

Cleaning

For the final cleaning of the coating it is advisable to use products compatible with the chemical resistance of the pieces, as well as to avoid the use of solid detergents with abrasive particles or solutions containing hydrofluoric acid, since this acid attacks the enamel and causes irreparable damage to the ceramic.

In case of stains that cannot be completely removed with a conventional detergent and require the use of specific solvents or cleaners, it is recommended to consult the chemical resistance class of the part beforehand. It is advisable not to use waxes, oils or similar products.

Installation joints

In humid sanitary areas, the “sunken joint” grouting is recommended to highlight the original shape of the piece. The joint should be made 1.5 mm thick with a strap or a cross brace.

The grouting is executed without filling the joint to the surface in order to respect the edge of the manual style piece. When removing the grout, press with the sponge, emptying the upper layer of the joint to achieve this “sunken” effect that respects the beauty and natural shapes of the edge of the piece.

In dry areas, in order to decontextualize the ceramic tile that leaves its functional use in wet areas and make it the protagonist of the main spaces while maintaining the purity of its shape and design, we recommend the 1 mm joint with crosspiece and without grout.
